Our first mother/daughter spa

I brought my daughters to Creative Chakra while on vacation in California. This was their first "spa" experience. We loved the funky/Asian feel of the decor and spa area. The owner, Sandie, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. After serving the most delicious hot tea, they put us in one room for a luxurious 90 minutes of massage and facial. My massage with Kirk was REMARKABLE--may have been the best massage I ever experienced (wish I lived closer--I would go each week!) The facials were rejuvenating. We relaxed in the lovely back garden area sipping tea when it was done. I hope to get back to California soon, and I will visit this special spot!

Love, Love, Love Creative Chakra Spa. It is a great destination Day Spa located steps from the ocean in Marina Del Rey. The perfect place to restore by the shore. The staff help you to rejuvenate and heal from the stress of modern society. I recently treated myself to a Facial there, then enjoyed the sauna and hydrotheraphy - I left feeling like a more vibrant woman as I walked toward the beach to meditate!

I have been coming here for 8 years and love it, this review is long overdue, it is a hidden gem and that is exactly it, I want to keep it a secret but my conscious won't let me anymore, you need to know. The therapists here bring a higher level of skill, integrity and caring to their work, I have my favorites of course and luckily there is not a high turnover here so I can often request my fav! Drop all those inexpensive massages and go here, you will save a bunch of money anyway as the bodywork truly stays with you and does the job of letting go of pain and stress. I highly recommend it. I did not even get to mention, they are at the beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, you use the facilities PRIVATELY, meaning that when you use the sauna or steam or jacuzzi, you will not be vying for your space in the room, it is all yours and best of it, the steam and sauna is in the garden, the jacuzzi has mineral water and has a really cool vibe in this room. There is more but you will just have to check it out and see for yourself. I just read their article in Day Spa Magazine on how they are a leader in green spas, they are the cover story so I decided I just got to share, these guys rock.

Great little gem of a spa

I would definitely return to this spa again because of the excellent personal service. The owner gave my mother and I a great deal on our services that was tailored specifically to what kind of treatment we desired. The spa itself is very aesthetically pleasing and well decorated. The noise from the street sometimes distracted the atmosphere but the owner did a fine job covering it up with soothing spa music. We had the whole place to ourselves and found the outdoor patio a great environment to sit and read for an hour or two before our treatments. My mom took advantage of the extensive library provided and enjoyed thumbing through the spa's unique selection of books. The treatment itself was wonderful, I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed, but I wouldn't have enjoyed having the shared room with anyone but a family member. Overall, I appreciated the love and care the owner put into making her Creative Shakra Spa so unique and lovely.

vacation for the body and soul

Wow! Am I really still in L.A.? Just 20 minutes form my house and I feel like I'm on an island resort: ocean air, lovely luscious green plants and spa treatments. I just came in for a regular massage. Boy was I surprised! I seek out all natural green treatments whenever possible. My visit to Creative Chakra Spa was much more than I expected. The massage was fantastic and the sauna afterwards in the garden was very serene. I felt very centered and comforted. I really needed this as my mother just passed away. I was feeling like I wanted to curl up and go away from life. But my visit to Creative Chakra Spa helped me process some of the grief I was feeling in my body. At the end, I felt comfortable to ask if the spa personnel could suggest some some help, a psychic or some way help me understand if my mother was peaceful, she had just passed over. As it happened the Spa staff has a Medical Intuitive on staff, Bruce Dickson. He sat with me and he listened to my concerns and connected me with my mother through his own sensitivities, reassuring me she was safe and well and that my priority was taking care of myself and reconnecting with my own inner guidance. He was able to sense in me the blockages of feeling I was having, and point them out so I could reconnect and process my grieving. I love this place, what a unique concept to have total wellness, spa, yoga, wellness classes and they have unique services that are available if needed, it was needed, thank you Creative Chakra! >

This place is so different from the usual fake, busy and oh so predictable. It is quiet, unique and truly individual, as we all are. And the staff are genuinely interested in making each and every person who visits leave feeling rejuvenated and energized. I had sauna, massage and soak in the hot tub and enjoyed the ambience, the aromas and colors of the surroundings. The massage was professional and great and the music choice perfect. I left a very happy customer and look forward to my next visit. I highly recommend trying something a little different and more interesting than anything else in Los Angeles.

Beachside Healing

I usually get a massage a few times a year but I've never thought of going to a spa. My visit to Creative Chakra Spa was amazing though. The Jacuzzi and massage was very much needed after a stressful work week and the pressure of the massage was a 10! The garden setting is very relaxing. I just love to be outside in the sunshine and to be able to look up at the sky and as it got later I sat by the fire. The staff was extremely nice and they made you feel very comfortable so I stayed a while and hopped in the sauna. It truly is a great location being by the beach on one of those quaint little walk streets in Venice where they have all of the interesting architecture of the different houses and overgrown gardens. I was thinking of going someplace on Washington for happy hour afterwards as it's close-by, but the warm herbal teas seem to be all I need right now and I would hate to leave the soft music and the fragrant aroma of the spa just yet...

A beautiful spa with customized spa treatments and excellent service

What I really like about this place is the service and the professionalism of the people who work at this spa. I loved the fact that you know you are not on an assembly line as with some others spas who do 50 minute massages. They are very much hands on with service but will leave you alone to relax at the spa for hours, without rushing you and you can always grab one of their beach mats and enjoy the ocean as it is that close. The rooms are big and decorated with some beautiful art from local artists. This really is a green spa, right down to the fact that they manufacture there own products, I guess it is kind of an aromatherapy apothecary that they have in the tea room. They customized my spa treatment, right there as I watched when they did my vanilla sugar scrub and added coconut and essential oils. My skin is so smooth and ready for spring!

A Nature Spa like Hawaii
By LibertyK | March 5, 2011

This is very much a nature spa and reminds me of a spa somewhere in the hawaian islands. I am going back to try some of their extensive spa remedies, there are certainly a lot of healing therapies offered, apparently most based on folk medicine from around the world. This is not a salon though, no botox, permanent make-up or hair-cuts here, just pure divine healing.

Thank you and may I suggest reserving the Outdoor Steam Room next time looking out in nature surrounding by Bamboo Trees. It will be good for clearing any allergens. It is also hosed out after each visit, so only two in a party. Not only that, we will create a special aromatherapy blend for your allergies. Very healthful for cleaning out any respiratory issues and assists in clearing the pores from acne. Thank you again.

A Healing Spa Retreat at the Beach

Creative Chakra Spa is a healing retreat by the beach and is one the most nurturing, calming health spa environments in Los Angeles. The sounds, the sight and the feel of the ocean are steps away. I have been coming here for 5 years and it has always been an inviting sanctuary with comfort and wellness on my mind. I love the massages. There are fire's in the room and heated tables. There is also an aromatherapy bar, on the way to the treatment room!! It is a boutique style spa with a steam, sauna, and a heavenly hydro-therapy Jacuzzi. Creative Chakra Spa is located on a relaxing walk-way street in the beautiful Marina Del Rey. I love going there and relaxing with a tea or an elixir overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I always feel refreshed and centered after my experience at this slice of paradise located at the beach in Marina Del Rey.

What a waste of money. NOT WORTH IT
By kristyd | February 23, 2011

My partner and I recently visited this spa for the "Couples Champagne Sunset Massage". The price was $250.00 for 120 mins. I added a mani and pedi to our package. My partner declined to do these, so I was told it would be $40.00 for each. Well we come to the "spa" and it was an apartment complex converted into the "spa facility". Tea was offered and we started our treatments. My mani, pedi was HORRIBLE. A lady that wrks in a nail salon shows up and hands me a plastic bag filled with nail polish and tells me to pick a color. She then brings out one of those at home foot pedicure machines that was covered with a white trash bag and filled with hot soapy water. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. Long story short the water was cold by the time she was done clipping my toe nails. For my mani, all she did was file my nails. All the while, my partner was sitting in a sauna, bored out of her mind. To top it off, she tells me that if i wanted to tip her then, I should do it now and then. So while Im naked under my robe, i have to dig through my clothes that were on the floor to find her tip money. I WAS CHARGED $108.00 FOR THIS GHETTO, WORTHLESS MANI PEDI. Only good thing abt this place was the massage. We ended up paying $406.00 on this "experiance"

I want to acknowledge your disappointment with your mani/pedi. At no time between 2pm-8.45pm was there an indication that you were unhappy and you begun with the mani/pedi. To accommodate your wishes, we explained prior to your appointment that we would have to bring in an outside person as our regular "Nail Tech" was at a Pre-Oscar Event. The satisfaction form that you filled out at the end of your visit was an additional opportunity for you to express any positives/negatives. Your feedback is invaluable, please allow us to rectify this situation as soon as possible

I'm sorry for anyone who goes to this place. My husband and I just had the $495 couples spa package and it was disastrous. I will start with the only positive of the whole day: the massages themselves. They were fantastic and the therapists were both great. I can't say that for the owner though. She has no idea how to run a business and I cannot believe it's been in business for 8 years. The place was a dump. There was trash bags all over the hallway. The glasses she gave us water in had lipstick rings on them. There are two bathrooms that everyone shares. If you're in the shower and someone has to go to the bathroom, too bad. You have to wait. There are hair and grooming supplies, but they aren't in any disinfectant. Who's going to use a comb and brush that's just sitting on a counter that everyone uses? We were rushed around and told that we couldn't have the bath, but could use the sauna. When I objected to that because the reservation specifically states the bath. We were told that we could get a few minutes in there, but to hurry. So, it was about 7 minutes in a hot tub, while they waited for us to get out. Then, a tuna wrap. $495?!?!?! Are you nuts? Worst spa I've ever been to.

We were really disappointed to read your comment above. Unfortunately, most of your statements have no basis in fact and it is clear that nothing we could have done would have satisfied you. It was my sincere wish to accommodate your needs. I am sorry that you had such a miserable experience and we would have loved to make it better. May I suggest one of those Spa Factories which is quite obviously what you were looking for. For the record, each bathroom is cleaned after each person as the room is getting ready for the next client, everything is cleaned. We gave you use of 2 of our rooms and 2 bathrooms as we wanted to please you and obviously we failed. We have tried contacting you several times. Please allow us the opportunity to address any positives or negatives privately as we are always striving to improve our services and truly enjoy the fantastic feedback from our clients who have enjoyed their day, rare is it that our guests are disappointed.

Wow! The price of a massage here is the same price since it opened 7 yrs ago, compared to other places nearby who charge $180! This spa is enchanting, I begin my treatment sipping a cup of tea overlooking the pacific ocean. It reminds me as if I were on vacation at a boutique resort tucked away in little beach cove area. I guess the locals call this little known area, The Southern California Rivieria which is actually The Marina Peninsula. The rooms are spacious, it kind of gives me a feeling on expansiveness in my body and mind instead of cramming into a tiny room as in other massage places. I am surrounded by beautiful local art and I don't hear any white noise as Creative Chakra Spa is that close to the beach, you don't hear the city din that we have all got used to living with, it is tranquil. I am also on a monthly plan which is even better pricing and I have been coming here for the last 5 yrs. I still need to try Yoga here, it looks inviting as they are very small classes so I don't have to be too concerned that I am not a good pretzel! Spa-cation, here it is, it is hard to believe I don't have to travel miles for this piece of heaven.

I came to this spa for a massage a few weeks ago and got a much more of a holistic experience than i ever bargained for. This is an apartment complex on the beach, converted into yoga studios and treatment rooms. The facilities are connected though an outdoor yard, and the rooms are decorated in that now quite familiar westernized-Buddha theme. If your idea of a spa is something along the lines of Burke Williams, go somewhere else, because this place will give you a healing instead.

Luckily, we are the ONLY commerical building in the Marna Peninsula and they are not making any more beaches, lagoons or jettys! We have been here for 7 years as a green, holistic, nature spa with a lanai, a garden area with fire-bowl and lights in the trees, a garden cabana for outdoor couples fireside massage with a Far Infrared Cedar Sauna on the Lanai, a outdoor Steam Room surrounded by Bamboo Trees looking back to the garden area. There is also a private Hydro-therapy Spa Meditation Soaking Room, eating areas, a Tea Shoppe with Elixirs/Aromatherapy Apothecary Bar and an Tea Lounge with Red Umbrellas and French Bistro Sets looking over the Pacific Ocean. We are an Oceanside Healing Retreat and we have parking at the beach.

Creative Chakra Spa is my favorite spa to go to in Los Angeles. I was looking for a holistic spa in LA, and I was delighted to find Creative Chakra. It is truly a treasure. It provides me with the perfect private and natural treatments that I desire. Sandie and the staff make sure that you get the personal attention you deserve. They make every visit enjoyable. I became a member and I now enjoy private steam room, sauna, and hydrotherapy treatments on a weekly basis. It is such a bargain. I highly recommend Creative Chakra from the bottom of my heart.

I travel all around the world. Have massages all the time. I have paid to be in some of the most expensive places in the world for massages. But there’s nothing like Creative Chakra Spa. You really feel the attention and you feel the healing of the therapists at a Creative Chakra. At other spas its more mechanical and not about the healing. That’s why I love this spa. You can really feel it and I’ve been coming here for 3 and a half years.

The best spa in Los Angeles!

Creative Chakra Spa blew me away. I have a spa treatment or massage at least once a week. The moment I walked in, I felt relaxed. I took a seat on the porch swing and sipped some green tea while watching the sail boats on the ocean. Already, this was very different, usually have to wait in a lobby area with attendants and phones ringing etc. This was very much a personal experience unique and soothing. The rooms were spacious and beautiful almost whimsical. It had a feeling that I once felt when I was on vacation in Hawaii. The session began with a private chakra meditation in the Yoga Studio costing only $45 as an add on to my hour massge! I certainly felt the care and attention to detail in everything from the skills of the massage therapist to my entrance and exit. Which is also another awesome advantage to rave about. I relaxed in the outdoor atrium and read some healing books from the library shelf as I could hear the sounds of the ocean and surrounded with jasmin trees on the outdoor back patio. I was uninterrupted in the relaxation area, it was so serene, I decided to make a day of it and headed down to the ocean with a Creative Chakra beach mat in hand. I contemplated my life, set some goals and felt my spirit soar with renewed vigor. After a beautiful morning, right here in the heart of Los Angeles, a hidden sanctuary, time slowed down and I still had time to go to work at 1pm in Hollywood! Wow! a mini day retreat without leaving my backyard! Next time you feel totally worn out, take a morning off, I recommend it! I got a promotion the next day, it was magical. My attitude had changed completely.

Besides the very relaxing and theraputic space the massage therapist was amazing, skilled, professional, caring, healing and a sweet spirit.
