Beauty for Water: SpaRitual and Surge Water 2012

There are so many things that inspire us here at Club Spa but maybe one of the best is beauty with a cause – because what’s more beautiful than helping the world around us? SpaRitual, an amazing company founded on the belief system of understanding beauty as a holistic connection to oneself and to the environment, will be doing just that this spring. Through a partnership with Surge, an organization that provides safe drinking water to those in need, SpaRitual will donate 20 percent of the proceeds this spring from their new Water 2012 Nail Lacquer Collection to this important cause.

“The Water Collection represents the importance it has for our physical wellbeing—up to 70 percent of the human body is composed of water—and our emotional health; it’s a proven fact that water provides soothing benefits,”  says SpaRitual Founder, Shel Pink. “Sadly, communities around the world lack access to clean drinking water. We’re pleased to be involved with Surge, and to support the foundation’s efforts to help provide clean, safe drinking water worldwide.’’

Surge strives to engage, educate and empower communities through funding projects that provide safe water to some of the 1.1 billion people who do not currently have access to this basic human need. . Since its start in October 2008, Surge has brought clean water to more than 20,000 people by building fresh water wells, manufacturing filters and building sanitation systems.

As with all of SpaRitual’s nail polishes, the Water Collection is free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin. The shades include (from left) Hidden Reef, a coral shimmer; Deep, a dark grey shimmer; Ripple Effect, a creamy mauve; Lucid, a creamy lilac blue; Undercurrent, a creamy dark ocean blue; and Ebb & Flow, a bright creamy aqua – my very favorite! Each color was created in hopes that it would serve as a gentle reminder that protecting our natural resources is so important.

The complete collection will become available February 1, 2012, and will retail for $10.00 each in fine salons and spas nationwide, including SpaHalekulani, Canyon Ranch and the Mandarin Oriental. SpaRitual products are also available online at skinstore.com, beauty.com and skincarerx.com.
