KUR Skin Lab: Your Skin Care Cure in Midtown Manhattan

There’s a new spot on the block in Midtown East and we have a feeling it’s going to be very popular! KUR Skin Lab, New York City’s newest boutique spa is located on the second floor of a bright, airy commercial building on the corner of 53rd Street and 3rd Avenue. Inside the intimate space you’ll find a quiet respite from the hustle-bustle of NYC and a fantastic menu of treatments aimed to deliver results instantly! And boy do they deliver!

When owner Kevin Oh was creating the concept for the spa he drew on the philosophy that healthy skin is beautiful skin, hence the name KUR, which in many languages translates to “cure.” Using clinical-grade products from PCA Skin® and Mesoestetic®, paired with the ahead of the curve cosmetic technologies,  skin and body care cure is exactly what you’ll find at KUR Skin Lab.

With both skin and body care treatments including advanced esthetics, non-invasive cosmetic procedures, hair removal, massage, bodywork, and facials, it was hard to pick which treatment to try when I visited the spa shortly after its opening, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to try the Customized Facial (75-minutes; $120). My esthetician, Sophia, was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly skilled. After taking a look at my skin and talking through my concerns, Sophia instantly knew what my dry skin needed. A gentle cleansing and microdermabrasion followed by an amazing circulation-boosting facial, hand, arm, and shoulder massage. Up next was a hydrating serum, super moisturizing mask, moisturizer, and an SPF that helped to protect my skin long after my facial was over. After I left my face was dewy and glowing and I was completely relaxed and ready to plan my next visit!
