Dining with the Stars at A Voce

A rare treat for me…Dinner at a hip new restaurant here in New York escorted by my good friend Bob Grimes, who introduced me to my husband, Peter, 21 years ago. Bob and Peter were both guests at the Golden Door spa while I was working there, and Bob was the catalyst for our relationship. Bob is “Mr. New York” on the restaurant scene; he knows every top chef, maitre d’, and wine steward in the city. It is always fun to share a new restaurant with him.

We went to A Voce, which has only been open for two months. From the look of the crowd and the splendid food, I assume success. Rachael Ray, the perky down-to-earth chef who knows how America cooks, was there. (I predict we are not likely to see any of the Avoce menu items on her TV show!) Also dining there was Clive Davis, the recording industry legend, who was head of Columbia Records and signs up the American Idol winners. He looked very fit, and I understand that he is 75. So, a night of star-gazing…
