Tackle stress with Ashwagandha
Before you head to the doctor because your mind is racing at night, try Ashwagandha to diffuse the stress. Ashwagandha, an Ayurvedic natural herb, promises to curtail stress and anxiety with no artificial ingredients added.
As I struggled with stress myself, I decided to give this a try. I was looking for a cortisol inhibitor because let’s face it, we all stress about something. Work/life balance, while ideal, may be out of reach for some of us during specific chapters. Thankfully, Ashwagandha, an adaptogen, helps the body deal with daily stresses. It’s just a small shrub with yellow flowers that’s native to India and North Africa. Extracts or powder from the plant’s root or leaves are used to treat a variety of conditions. I chose to incorporate this into my daily supplement route.
Improves Brain Health
According to WebMD [1} Ashwagandha contains chemicals that might help calm the brain, reduce swelling (inflammation), lower blood pressure and alter the immune system. It’s known to reduce blood pressure, combat anxiety and even provide relief for ADHD.
Like everything, it’s recommended that you trial the supplement before committing to any specific daily dosage since the necessary supplements are bio-individual. I’d give it 30 days to sink in as the body does require a period of time for assimilation. Specifically, given that the other option is to head to the doctor for meds, I thought it wise to explore a homeopathic remedy instead. Lastly, those with low blood pressure should take caution as this does lower your blood pressure. Instead, try folate as its recommended to increase your blood pressure.
