In 1912 the city of Tokyo gave Washington, DC, an amazing gift. Three thousand cherry trees were bestowed to our nation’s capital and 100 years later, DC is enjoying the unprecedented centennial celebration of this beautiful donation. From March 20 – April 27, the city’s iconic Cherry Blossom Festival will be the talk of the town as their pink branches decorate the capital.
Clearly, Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC, wanted to get in on the fun and make it easy for you to as well! During the Festival, Mandarin Oriental will be offering guests its “Cherry Blossom Centennial” package, starting at $395. The package includes:
- Overnight accommodations in a deluxe room
- Buffet breakfast for two in Sou’Wester
- Overnight valet parking
- Cherry-inspired treats from the executive chef
- A 20-percent discount on the Cherry Blossom Ritual at The Spa (available Monday-Friday only)
In addition to the Cherry Blossom Ritual treatment, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC, will honor the Centennial Celebration by featuring a special Hanakasumi™ Cherry Blossom Treatment. The 80-minute treatment is inspired by Japanese tradition and uses warmed exfoliating cream with Cherry Blossom rice powder on the body and follows with an exfoliating massage to soften the skin. A foot massage based on reflexology and a full-body massage of melted Shea butter finishes this invigorating treatment. Guests will also get to take away a complimentary cherry-inspired spa amenity and gift worth $50 following the treatment. This limited-edition service is available until April 30th and costs $250 on weekdays and $275 on weekends.
